ROMANTIC PIANO MUSIC

On these pages in this section you can listen to Max’s performances and discussions of works by Chopin, Liszt, Schumann and other composers of the 19th century Romantic period.

CHOPIN

I play a lot of Chopin’s music, and will be presenting my recorded performances of his pieces here, including complete sets like all 21 Nocturnes, which I have already recorded. Look out for music performance videos and, elsewhere on this members only website, some scores in flipbook format, as well as study score videos.

BRAHMS

I played a lot Brahms’ solo piano pieces as a student e.g. the Rhapsodies, Intermezzi, and Waltzes. I shall endeavour to include some of them here gradually.

DVORAK

I’ve always liked Dvorak’s handling of melody, harmony, and musical structure. I have listened more to his orchestral and chamber music, but I shall include at least the piano solo version of his famous Humoresque here.
