Music and Brand FAQs
The one-person global music empire created and run uniquely single-handed.
Fair-minded, broadminded music lovers who genuinely want the truth (rather than hype or media circus) about the actual and proven abilities of their music artists and creators. They want verifiable facts rather than inaccurate claims, suggestions, irrelevances, and posturing. These diversionary tactics are usually cleverly crafted to mislead the unsuspecting, and are perpetuated by big-budget marketing and promotional campaigns.
The tough question here is “just how good is the artist and creator when judged purely on the quality, quantity, and variety of his very own output, not the work done for him by an army of collaborators, contributors, employees, and financial backers. Coordinating all those diverse activities is good management, but it is far different from, and does not have the close quality control that comes from being unusually or uniquely able to do all those tasks single-handed to produce high quality, large quality, and broad variety of professional and sometimes innovative products.
Rather than sticking cautiously to one music genre, I have developed the combination of skills and qualities to create exceptionally high multimedia content in both classical and popular music, uniquely matching the best-known practitioners in the two fields, if quality, quantity, and variety of output are the only criteria for judging, rather than figures for sales, streams, mainstream media coverage, or awards, all of which are known to be manipulated by politics, finance, and other non-musical factors.
I am offering a unique combination of musical content and skills as follows:
- Top level professional quality music compositions and performances across both mainstream classical music periods. First, I compose classical/art music that tries to match the quality (if not yet the amazing quantity) set by our most admired classical masters like Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Clementi, Schubert, and Schumann, to name just a few. My compositions include concertos for piano and orchestra, three of which are already available online n sketchy formats because the best quality audio and video productions are reserved for my subscribers here. My compositions also include over 50 piano solos and duets.
- Secondly, I also play standard classical piano repertoire at concert level having studied piano performance at the Royal College of Music, London, reaching the top level for professional concert pianists, and I have recorded a lot of the best known pieces from the classical piano repertoire, including complete sets like all the piano sonatas by Mozart, a lot of Beethoven’s, all Chopin’s nocturnes, ballades, as well as most of his waltzes and impromptus, Schubert’s impromptus, all of Liszt’s consolations and liebestarume, and a wide assortment of pieces by Bach, Scarlatti, Handel, Schumann, Brahms, Dvorak, Scott Joplin, Rachmaninov, Debussy, and others.
- Top level professional quality song writing, arranging and performance across different popular music genres. My popular music creations include original pop love songs, fun and party songs, seasonal songs, as well as arrangements of traditional and folk songs like Christmas carols. I also arrange, perform and record songs previously released by other pop music artists such as the Beatles, Nat King Cole, the Platters, The Everly Brothers, Yazoo, Elvis Presley, and many others. In addition, I have a production series I call “Pop the Classics” where I present well-known music by classical composers in electronic pop music arrangements.
- Difficult and very time-consuming, but I’ve gradually had to develop the skillset for total quality control and single-handed creation of all my music audios and videos, scores in printed and digital formats, my own website(s), merchandise store, management of my Amazon publications, as well as my YouTube and other social media content. I now even have my own linear television network, channels of which will initially be available only on my website(s), but may be presented later on Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, and/or Apple TV. As time goes, I want to start delegating much of the day-to-day and admin work to trusted professionals. So, I compose, perform, arrange, produce multimedia, publish, promote, and broadcast.:-)
- I hope you agree that this combination is unique, and therefore should be publicised, appreciated, and supported.
Instead of relying on record labels, producers, songwriters, arrangers, videographers, broadcasters, he has created his own self-run system for doing all that by himself.
Therefore single-handed;
- I compose and arrange both classical and popular music at a global professional level. (Few people do this.)
- I perform my own classical and popular music compositions to professional standards. I do the same with standard classical compositions as well as popular music by other writers. (Even fewer people are able to do this.)
- I record, produce, and still owns all my own music audio recordings, playing, singing, and programming every instrumental or vocal track on those recordings.
- I record, edit, and produce all my own ground-breaking classical music videos, and popular music videos too. For these, I admit I get background images and video clips from publicly available stock libraries. The foreground video performances are always entirely my own.
- With music conservatoire and university education and qualifications, I of course write my own music scores, including orchestral scores for piano concertos etc. I self-publish my own printed scores currently mostly on the Amazon platform.
- However, I have now created, again single-handed, my own e-commerce store to sell my own digital music products like videos, flip books, and printable content as well as physical merchandise of my own designs.
- I am very pleased to have created my own linear tv network broadcasting my classical, popular, and crossover/fusion music.
- I have also built this music membership website that features not only audio-visual music videos, music scores, innovative “study and performance score videos”, but also music quizzes, music puzzle games, and some of my music linear tv channels.
- Beyond music, I have also written and published books and other content on learning skills, examination skills, goal-setting, goal-getting, and personal development.
I think it is both very challenging and very encouraging as follows.
- It is encouraging as it presents opportunities and tools for creativity, innovation, promotion and marketing that were previously not widely or generally available.
- It is challenging because much more personal effort (and perhaps ingenuity too) may be required to promote and market the creativity and innovation now made much easier to achieve by the tools and opportunities available.
- The challenge seems to be that one must be willing to keep up developing and broadening one’s skillset to produce huge quantity and variety of very high quality content that can be packaged consistently and coherently together, and presented effectively to a well-targeted audience who love just what is being offered.
Yes, my work is mostly online for several reasons:
- The internet provides the means and tools to reach a much wider global audience than physical venues.
- Physical venues are far more expensive to purchase, and the cost is usually passed on to the audience.
- Whilst physical venues offer the excitement and atmosphere of close physical proximity between performers and audiences, they do not allow immediate access from anywhere in the world to content like files delivered online. Moreover, for most people in the audience, a physical venue does not offer the possibility of controlling detail of audio-visuals as the internet does, like turning sound volume up or down, slowing, speeding up, or downloading content, etc.
- The internet allows sharing of a much wider variety and far larger quantity of content e.g. audios, videos, text in pdf or flipbook formats, all of which can be made accessible more repeated than offline or even 24/7.
- A website allows easier feedback from audience to performer or music creator. A membership website can have a forum where members can discuss issues of common interest, or even set up a community section to allow direct messaging between members.
They are as follows:
- I keep on practising my favourite classical piano repertoire, including complete sets. I have coined the name CMPMP (Contemplative Meditative Positive Mindset Pianism) to describe my preferred way of playing the piano, which is more about calm focus and seemingly effortless presentation of the notes and the spirit of the composer’s notation, rather than attempting to re-write the composer’s work. When I feel creative I compose my own pieces. When I perform other composers works I respect their clearly notated wishes.
- I keep on fine-tuning my composing and arranging of popular, folk, and traditional music. I also sometimes arrange and perform other writers pop music. Then I do arrangements of famous classical music in electronic pop styles.
- I record and produce single-handed all my own arrangements and performances. I produce the audio recordings, the music videos (including performance score videos and study score videos), or just the music scores in either pdf and flipbook formats.
- I offer these contents for sale or (sometime heavily discounted) downloads in my self-built music store, or my Amazon store. I showcase most of my work on this membership website with a few appearing on social media platforms for promotional purposes.
- I found ways to create interactive quizzes and puzzles to delight my subscribers, and have gone to great lengths to create linear TV channels, which I hope will also delight my members.
- On this membership website, I shall endeavour to provide a forum where members can discuss issues of common musical interest, and possibly also a community feature that will enable members to communicate privately with each other, if their is a need for this feature.
