This section will feature performances and discussions of my own original compositions for solo piano.
CONTEMPLATIONS
My “Contemplations” are piano pieces that encourage relaxation and gentle reflection in both performer and listener, and therefore particularly representative of my personal piano playing style, which I describe as “Contemplative Meditative Positive Mindset Pianism”. The first six Contemplations are subtitled as follows:
The “Fantasias” are lively concert standard piano pieces posing considerable challenge to the pianist’s technique and musicianship, not least of all the jazzy syncopated rhythms derived from African folk music. For the listener, however, they should be very easy to listen to and appreciate because of their melodious and harmonious style, as well as their light-hearted moods. The Three Fantasias presented below are subtitled as follows:
My 4 “Impromptus” for piano solo follow the tradition set by Schubert, Chopin, Faure, and others in their well-known pieces, of crafting beautiful music whilst making it sound improvised. However, as usual, I try to stamp my own creativity, originality, and personality are stamped on the pieces, not least of all in the various moods and descriptive titles. The Impromptus presented below are subtitled as follows:
My 12 “Nostalgic Moods” for piano solo are, like the Contemplations, indicative of my personal piano playing that I describe as “Contemplative Meditative Positive Mindset Pianism” (CMPMP). More information about CMPMP is available on this website The 12 Nostalgic Moods presented below are subtitled as listed below.
Below are listed some of my miscellaneous compositions for piano solo.
